Harry Potter = Good Times

Posted by: jassyk84 on: June 9, 2009

As the release of the sixth movie- Half Blood Prince, draws ever-closer, I’m reminded of the release of the last book- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and my event Perfectus 2007.

On July 20th 2007 I was the sole organizer of Houston’s largest independent book release event, Perfectus 2007- which took place at the Children’s Museum of Houston.

The night passed in a haze of stress, but it was an awesome time and I would do it again in a heart beat.

Perfectus- which means ‘finished’ in Latin was covered by every major Houston news outlet including several articles and video from the Houston Chronicle.  Even our band became famous as the July 20th release date hit Houston with a bang.

After arguing out legalities with Warner Brothers London, securing a midnight book release from a private bookseller and obtaining donations of food from local eateries, I was glad that the event was over but I think the experience not only renewed my love of the series but will last a lifetime.
